Meet Chef Ivy Lum (Ivory)
Founder & Educator

As someone who’s walked through trauma, healing, and life with mild autism… I understand how important it is to feel seen, safe, and supported.
Ivory Cakes is my quiet promise... that no one is left out, and everyone has a place to grow...

What Makes Us Shine...

“Every child deserves a place to belong… and a chance to shine.”— Chef Ivy

At Ivory Cakes, we believe that joy is baked into every detail…
From inclusive learning spaces to sensory-friendly designs…
every part of our school is created with care, love, and intention.
We shine not because we’re perfect… but because we embrace imperfections,
celebrate effort, and see beauty in every learner’s journey.
Here, students don’t just learn recipes.
They discover confidence… expression… and belonging.

    Community Care

Amid the challenges of COVID and beyond, she kept going — cooking, caring, and never giving up.
From a small, registered home-based workshop, her business grew steadily through word of mouth and quiet determination.
She sold handmade meals in local Vietnamese and Asian supermarkets, cared for the elderly, cooked for the unwell, and surprised others with sweet treats to brighten their days.
Over time, she built a loyal following of nearly 2,000 supporters on Facebook — quietly laying the foundation for the inclusive school she would later create.

🌿 The Dream Behind Ivory Cakes

Ivory Cakes began with a quiet wish…

A dream whispered in the kitchen… carried through years of healing, and held gently in Ivy’s hands have shaped through her journey as a daughter, a survivor, and a teacher.

It wasn’t just about baking.

It was about giving others what she once longed for, a place to feel safe, seen,

and proud of something they made with love.

Today, that dream has grown into a school.

Not just for skills, but for hope.

Not just for recipes, but for rising.

Welcome to a space where dreams are kneaded gently and joy is always on the menu.
